OYE6 Protein Sequence
Codes for the Old Yellow Enzyme 6 (OYE6) from Achromobacter sp. OYE6 is part of the Old Yellow Enzyme (OYE) family, all of which are thought to function in reducing alpha-beta unsaturated C=C double bonds. In our experiment, we are using OYE6 to reduce citral to citronellal (by reducing an alpha-beta unsaturated C=C double bond in citral).
OYE6 can be used by simply coding for the enzyme in a DNA sequence. As a result, the enzyme should be produced and can be used to reduce certain compounds that need to be introduced separately in vitro or in vivo.
